    Day 354, Hab block Y38

    +++MSG>> outgoing >> found a sub hab > level Y38-321>> entering << STATUS E << EOM+++

    Everything seems so easy. I think they haven’t met any resistance yet. Probably Y38 is empty. So, where did these horrors go?

    +++MSG>> outgoing >> entering sub hab > level Y38-321>> no sensor signals available << instruments dead << EOM+++

    I’m starting to wonder how many squads they’ve already sent into Y38. And for how long. No one seems to know what’s really going on inside.

    +++MSG>> incoming >> nothing in here > awai… … … … … … … CONNECTING … … CODE 22311 … … … SIGNAL LOST+++

    We are lost.

    Day 353, Hab block Y38

    +++MSG>> incoming >> DZ clear >> forward >> rushing through three levels >> Y38-544 clear >> Y38-543 clear >> following traces << STATUS H << EOM+++

    The Drop Boys landed today. They are sweeping Y38 as if it was a race. Well, it is. But not against us. It’s against time.
    They are clearing one floor after the other, starting with the DZ at the top. And we soon realized that even their efficient approach is somewhat slowed down by something.

    Also check out what I found by chance.

    Night shift, control post 12, I’m so tired.

    Day 350, Outskirts, NNE Sector 32

    +++MSG INCOMING>>Charge HE>>set target>>22n34uu34<<confirm<<proceed++EOM+++
    We know the target is down there, behind the tree line. Still we can’t see anything. Even the coordinates transmitted by the forward observers are inaccurate. Come on, 22n34uu34 … how does that do? How big is that thing?

    +++MSG+Air Recon D3+Scout Transport>>ENGAGING<<EOM+++

    „Do you still think the coordinates our FO gave us was crap?“
    „No.“
    „But you said it was crap.“
    „Hey, shut up. There’s no way you ain’t gonna unload these wagons.“

    Dear my love,
    tonight, in my dream, I was not in the city. I was outside, where the constant booming of artillery was throbbing beneath the earth. And there was a buzzing. The air was filled with noise. And the smell seemed to absorb the light. Everything around me was blurred. The rotting leaves seemed to lean towards me.
    When I woke up it was like someone was watching me. May the Emperor protect us all.

    Day 342, Train District 23N

    +++MSG>>INCOMING>>movement in Train District 23N>>locate and identify target<<2i3ruzg.97++EOM+++
    The mobile squads enter the Train District. Progress is slow, the streets are narrow ravines. Light is scarce. Every corner, every crack poses potential danger.

    +++MSG Incoming++we made contact>>CQC reached 4.32>>RQST CMD<<h3z33++EOM
    Why three eight? Why us? This thing seemed to be trapped at the end of the tunnel and we‘ve hit it multiple times. In the end it disappeared. We found steps. We go in. The Emperor protects.

    … clear … imperial soldier on recon duty … sensors show multi-reflections … relict species also … continue …

    We found the hole where it went. We go after it. It’s again one level down. I don’t know if we are still in Hab38. It’s one corner at a time. And it’s getting darker. Where are we? The Emperor protects.
