SAGA
In the last couple of months we’ve played a lot of SAGA Age of Vikings even including a campaign. The game is great. Creating a warband is the simplest thing there is. I can play Normans whose style I dig. The game mechanics with warband specific battle boards works really well. And the fact that you don’t know what you’ll be able to do next turn brings in a really interesting twist. SAGA is published by https://www.grippingbeast.co.uk and next to the Age of Vikings you’ll find different other eras in which to play. Plus a generic fantasy version called Age of Magic.
The Weald
On the other hand there’s The Weald, a community driven, free skirmish game where small groups of Wardens fight against the Gnarl, creatures infected and driven by the Rot spreading throughout the never ending forest of Hollar.
Check out my other blog posts for The Weald.
Combining SAGA and The Weald
Because SAGA works so well and we like The Weald so much we had to find a method to combine them in some way or other.
The current concept you can find on my Wiki. Here I want to share some impressions.
Overall I can say that we are having lots of fun in playing this crossover. I just works so well.
